I am making an entirely new series called, 'Team G.L.A.' I'm working on Episode 1 of 100, but I seem to have missed something (I circled the error). Oh, also, if you want to check out the story when it comes out, somewhere in this year, it should be called: Team G.L.A: S1 E1-100 - 'College Career". The graphical boot only occurs if you pass the splash boot option for the kernel. Did you remember to include that option when configuring the new boot loader? The default Ubuntu configuration also uses the quiet boot option to suppress informational messages during boot. If you want things to be as close to the standard boot sequence as possible, make sure you are including it too. Jul 10, 2019 To fix parse error, you can take some useful steps. Reasons why a parse error may happen
- The file containing the data to be parsed does not exist.
- The data to be parsed contains an error. If you downloaded the file causing the parse error, try downloading the file again or look for an updated version of the file. If possible, try downloading the file from a different site.
- You may have insufficient permissions to access the file's data.
- The file's data is not compatible with the version of your operating system or program.
- Insufficient disk space. If a file is being written to a drive (e.g., thumb drive or SD card) that does not have enough space for the parsed results a parse error is generated. Make sure the drive has enough space or move the file being parsed or run to your hard drive if it is being run from removable media.
Parse error with Excel or another spreadsheet formula
A parse error can also be encountered with a spreadsheet formula if the formula is not formatted correctly. Formula parse errors may happen when extraneous special characters are included in the formula, such as an extra quote. In general, any syntax error in the formula will cause a parse error.

(Solved) - Parsing error on HP dv6700 laptop upgraded from Vista to Windows 7
(14 posts)I have a HP Pavilion dv6700 laptop which came with Vista. I have upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Whenever I try to do something with Firefox and Outlook, I get the following parsing error message.

HPHC_Scheduler.exe - Configuration parser error

HPHC_Scheduler.exe - Configuration parser error
Error parsing
C:Windows|Microsoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727configmachine.config
Parser returned error 0xC00CE556

I have no idea what this means and other than annoying the machine seems to be working ok.
As an aside, since I have upgraded to Windows 7, do I need to keep all of the HP crapware that is still
there from Vista? What can I safely remove?

I tried LH's link and did the sfc /scannow and no errors were found. I checked on the blog germ-x gave me and could not find any solution there either. I thought I would stick the upgrade Windows 7 disk in and see if I could run a repair, but there is no option for repair, only install.

I have run Registry Mechanic several times and it ignores 11 errors in the registry even when I try to run as administrator. I am wondering if there is something there that would be a problem, though I understand why I can't correct the errors. I will have to check with PCTools about it. Could there be an error in the registry that would cause programs that use .NET Framework to not work? Hmmmm....
What do you have in this folder,

LH,
I have folders for v.3.0 and v.3.5 (There are a whole bunch of files in each main folder and the following subfolders in each main folder)

germ-x,
I checked out the link you gave me and I think I found something interesting, but I don't know what to do with it.
I did a msconfig and saw under Services that the Micrsoft.Net Framework NGEN v2.0.50727_x86 was stopped which seems to me to indicate
that anything that uses the .NET Framework would not work. I don't know why it is stopped.

When I get those parsing error messages, at the top of the error message box is the name of the file which has the parsing error. The ones I
have seen and noted are: HPHC_Scheduler.exe, HPHC.exe, TTax.exe (TurboTax), FTM.exe (Family Tree Maker). I am sure there are others, but these
are the ones I have seen and the exe's don't work.

Under the msconfig Startup Tab there was an item HP Health Check Scheduler which was turned off, but it didn't seem to do any good.
chumley,
Three choices.
1. DISABLE HPHC_Scheduler.exe in Startup Items (NOT Needed)
There is a SERVICE associated with this program I think that also needs to be deleted.

2. Go to MS Update Site and Install Framework 2.0 WITH ALL Updates.
Have to keep going back until no more updates are offered.

Clean Install from Win7 Upgrade Disc.
I think this is still possible but will have to check other sources.

I did the #1 above unchecking the scheduler and service in msconfig. Still have issue with parsing error.
I will go to #2 and see what happens.
Thanks

I don't have any of the files you mentioned above. I have Netframe 3.0 & 3.5 SP1. Here is th elink for NetFrame 3.5 SP1 http://www.microsoft.com/downl...laylang=en
You asked about deleting the HP crapware. If you don't need / use it then you can delete it.
If it remains persistant you might want to use your recovery partition and restore to factory O/S. Then upgrade again to win7.
Make a backup image of your system, then remove all the HP hocus pocus stuff. Make sure your system is clear and running good then make another backup image.

I have tried to install the NET Framework 3.51 sp1 and it is installed, but I still get the parsing error. I understand now that the NET Frameworks through 3.5 come within the 7 OS and I cannot remove them and reinstall. I am not sure about the 3.51 sp1.
Is it possible that Registry Mechanic has deleted some of the NET Framework settings and is it also possible to compare the settings I have on this computer with my other machine which is running Windows 7 64 bit (this one is 32 bit) and if there is something missing, could I install it from the other machine? Sounds like a pipe dream, but everything I have tried so far with the help of several smart people has not solved my problem.

There is always the possibility of doing a clean boot using the Vista Rescue Disks I made when I got this machine and then upgrade that to 7, but there just has to be a better way.
Well, I bit the bullet. I feel I have tried everything everyone has suggested with no luck, so I did a clean install of 7 Ultimate and spent the day (sigh!) putting things back together. I did accomplish a couple of things. Now is all works and I have elimininated the HP crapware that was included with Vista. So..I think mama will be a happy camper once again.
